The Osprey is a great choice if you’re looking for a lightweight, stable canoe with excellent durability. Easy to handle both in and out of the water, we built this boat with an arched bottom and straight sides so it is efficient and maneuverable. The snap—in seat snuggly snaps over our vinyl gunwales and stays in place until you pop it out. This seat fits in the middle of all Old Town Canoes with widths of 34” to 37”. The rugged design can hold an adult or two children and carries up to 300 lbs. Consider a snap—in seat, oar sockets and oarlocks and you have a rowing canoe.

The straight keel line and sharp bow entry make the Old Town Penobscot 16 Canoe easy to paddle. While excellent in flat water, the design and Oltonar/Royalex® construction makes it very much at home in fast water. Oltonar/Royalex is lightweight while offering excellent strength and toughness. Oltonar/Royalex construction gives canoe high impact- and abrasion-resistance, plus excellent structural memory and resilience. Fine tandem day-tripping boat or solo canoe for paddlers with higher skill levels. Straight-on speed, handling ease and capacity make this an all-around performance canoe. Rounded bottom provides turning responsiveness. Features new vintage-look gold-leaf graphics based on custom designs from the 1920s. Standard features include black anodized aluminum gunwales, polyethylene decks with grab handles, ash carrying yoke and thwart, and web seats.
