Preventing Rowing Injuries

How can I get good at this uncommon cossack dance move (read question details please)?

I would like to be able to do this cossack dance move, but it’s not very common and I don’t even know where to start without injuring myself. The move is hard to describe, but here is a link with the move I am interested in:

http://www.barynya.com/Cossack_Dancers.htm

Go down about halfway down on the page where you will see a subheading titled “COSSACK DANCERS Video, Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, Washington, DC,” and click on the second videoclip (the one that is in the middle of the top row).

What kinds of exercises can help me learn this move? What can I do to prevent injury? How should I train? Thanks a lot for looking!
I also have another question about cossack dancing; if you could help on that one also, that would be great! Thanks!

That move is not uncommon. My group has about 40 members and about 5 (both male and female) can do it well. Practise doing handstands. Next practise kicking out of the handstand. When you get it right momentum will carry you and doing reps wil be easy.
